Three new awards will also be presented this year: Warren Buffett will receive the prize for philanthropy, the Black Lives Matter organization co-founders Alicia Garza, Opal Tometi, and Patrisse Cullors will receive the prize for activism, and the Sesame Workshop will receive the prize for culture and education.

Legend will be pulling double-duty that evening by also performing during the awards special, along with Alessia CaraCarrie UnderwoodCommonGwen StefaniJoJo and Tori KellyMiley Cyrus, Usher, Oprah WinfreyNick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katie Couric, Scott Evans, John Oliver and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will be presenting.

The 2020 Global Citizen Prize Awards will broadcast on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. The awards special will replay on MSNBC on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 10 p.m. ET and again on New Year’s Day (Jan. 1, 2021) at 12 a.m. ET. International viewers from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America can check here for their official TV listings. The Global Citizen Prize will also be streamed digitally via Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook.

Evans is hosting the official Countdown to the Prize pre-show live on Global Citizen’s Facebook and Twitter at 7:30 p.m. ET, replete with virtual red carpet interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes clips.
